February 8, 2013 - AMN Healthcare has announced a new partnership with HELPS International, a charitable non-profit organization whose mission is to alleviate poverty and medical problems in Latin America.

Together, the organizations are seeking medical volunteers to assist a 50 member medical team going to San Cristobal, Guatemala, from April 6 to 17, 2013.

For one week, Team Esperanza will provide routine, preventative and surgical medical care to people who would otherwise have limited or no access to such services.

AMN Healthcare will sponsor the cost of the trip for selected volunteers including:  transportation, meals, and dormitory-style residence in the hospital. Volunteers will also enjoy a three-night stay at the beautiful Hotel Casa Santa Domingo following the mission.

The following volunteers are needed and will be considered for sponsorship by AMN Healthcare:
•    Anesthesiologists
•    Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
•    Recovery Room Registered Nurses
•    Operating Room Registered Nurses
•    General Surgeons
•    Clinic Medical Doctors
•    Surgical Scrub Technicians

Qualified candidates who are interested in being considered for this medical mission should contact Steve Wehn at to obtain a volunteer application and sponsorship request. Please provide your name, specialty and the reason why you are interested in participating in this rewarding volunteer program.
