Multistate Nurse Licenses

The Nurse Licensure Compact allows a nurse to have one license (in his or her state of residency) and to practice in other states (both physical and electronic), subject to each state's practice law and regulation. Under mutual recognition, a nurse may practice across state lines unless otherwise restricted.

Read more about the Nurse Licensure Compact and see which states currently participate.

Licenses for Traveling Nurses

If you are interested in travel nursing, which can involve practicing in states other than your own, please contact NurseZone's travel nursing partners. A personal travel recruiter can explain the requirements and work with you to obtain any licenses, certifications or other paperwork needed for embarking on travel assignments.

International Boards of Nursing

Each country has different requirements in order to practice nursing. To learn more about nursing in other countries, including what licenses are required and how to obtain work permits, check with their boards of nursing.
