Although
the 1970s may sound like ancient history to
today's younger workforce, it is still fairly
recent for the nursing profession itself,
which has been in existence in the United
States since the Civil War. But it was in the
1970s when something significant occurred to
raise public awareness of the nursing
profession. Now, nearly four decades later, we
can see how far nursing has come, and how it
continues to evolve and grow.
